The Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies is a public university with special status which is autonomous and founded on the nurturing of merit and talent. It engages in the field of applied sciences, in the disciplinary areas of Economics and Management, Data Science, Law and Political Sciences for the Faculty of Social Sciences; Industrial and Information Engineering, Medical Sciences and Agricultural Sciences and Plant Biotechnology for the Faculty of Experimental Sciences.
Established in 1987 to continue the tradition of university colleges it originated from, the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies rapidly emerged as a dynamic and strongly innovative institution, amongst Italian and international universities, capable of taking on the challenges of advanced research while also retaining the prerogatives of a university dedicated to fostering talent and training Italy’s new managerial class.
The Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies is a research university of excellence and as such it has international recognition. The results achieved in the field of research guarantee a productive context for training and for developing innovation, both socially and experimentally. Research is conducted at the School institutes and inter-disciplinary research centres. In this context, students of various levels can train and cooperate in applied research activities.
